The Bear River Historical Society is a volunteer group of people who treasure the memories of the past and are devoted to saving as much of the heritage of the village for those here now, and those still to come.

We operate the Bear River Heritage Museum at 1913 CLEMENTSVALE RD, in the former village school, the Oakdene Centre.
The Museum features displays of the shipbuilding industry; Bear River being one of the great shipbuilding towns of the province, as well as agricultural, social, community, education, household and native M’ikmaq displays. A small admission fee is charged.
Museum hours: July & August, 10 am to 4 pm daily.
